“Iti Kahurangi” aims to show a slice of Māori history onstage, particularly the process of how we slowly became more Western. One of the things concerning modern tangata Māori is finding the balance between modern needs and traditional values, and this show aims to provide some explorative insight into it.
This show combines circus acrobatic movement with Māori physical theatre, to tell an important story of Aotearoa.
We’re right in the middle of the Terrace… Find Oxford lane (between Terrace Tavern and Amazonita), then go up the stairs behind Little Fiddle, or go up the elevator between Bangalore Polo Club and Amazonita. You can also access it from Shands Lane.
It’s about a block from the bus exchange, and if you are bringing your car then there is street parking down Hereford Street or use the Lichfield Street Carpark, it’s just a stone’s throw away!
